Makgosi Mabaso has been appointed Chief Commercial Officer of Openserve, focusing on driving the company’s commercial strategy.
Openserve, a South African-based leading wholesale connectivity solutions provider has appointed Makgosi Mabaso as their Chief Commercial Officer. She will oversee the entire commercial area of the organization's operations, replacing Phila Dube. Phila had been recently given the position of group chief commercial officer at Maziv, an infrastructural company specializing in fibre optic infrastructures.
This appointment marks an important new chapter for Openserve, the subsidiary of Telkom Group that focuses on connectivity solutions across South Africa. She is not a stranger to the company, having served as CCO at Openserve between 2018 and 2019. After that, she went to the office of the CEO of Telkom Group, where she played a strategic role in supporting the group's leadership. Most recently, Mabaso was the managing executive for Telkom Business and Home Solutions within the Consumer Business unit, where she supported the delivery of customer-centric solutions and enhanced operational performance.
Mabaso's career further encompasses her time at BCX as a sales managing account executive, where she has honed her leadership skills and furthered knowledge in the industry. In the new position, she will leverage her vast experience to drive Openserve's 'One Telkom' strategy, a transformative plan by Telkom to reorganise itself as an infra-structure company, known as InfraCo, and consolidate its infrastructure assets. Commenting on the challenge, Mabaso said she looks forward to leveraging synergies within the group to try and achieve much greater success together.
The leadership of Openserve commended Mabaso for her deep industry knowledge, proven track record, and strong leadership skills, which position her well to enhance the company's commercial strategy and reinforce its status as one of South Africa's leading wholesale network providers.
