A captivating story of friendship and cultural unity set in a fantastical steampunk world.
In an exciting development for the animation industry, Germany's Studio 100 International has joined forces with Mexico's Lunch Films to produce a family-friendly animated feature titled Halloween vs Day of the Dead. This film is set to transport audiences into a vibrant steampunk world, intricately weaving together the rich traditions of Halloween celebrated in the U.S. and the Day of the Dead observed in Mexico.
The narrative centers around two young protagonists, Pumpkid from Halloween Ville and Bony Lu from Day of the Dead Town. These unlikely heroes, both born into rival communities that have been at odds for centuries, embark on an adventurous journey to heal the rift that divides their towns. With themes of friendship, family, and self-discovery at its core, the film promises to resonate with audiences of all ages, offering a heartfelt exploration of cultural diversity and unity.
The animation will include both 2D and 3D. This animation is being directed by the well-known filmmaker Celso Garcia, who has been part of other productions like “The Thin Yellow Line and Origins: The Journey of Humankind.” Gerry Cardoso, also a well-seasoned producer, has also worked on producing “El Americano: The Movie”-this is the first animated feature film that was co-produced between Mexico and the United States.
Studio 100 International Business Operations Director Thorsten Wegener welcomed this artistic collaboration. "We are excited to start this journey with Lunch Films, combining our strengths to bring Halloween vs Day of the Dead to life. This project will not only offer a visually stunning experience but also celebrate the power of friendship and community," Wegener said.
Celso Garcia, a founder of Lunch Films, said the project is dedicated to both celebrations and what they mean culturally. "This film is a luminescent tribute to Halloween and the Day of the Dead. Through the eyes of our young heroes, we explore universal themes that are more relevant than ever," Garcia said.
This system, Halloween vs Day of the Dead, will prove to be one of the favorite family-friendly attractions in the fight for the joy of families on such an incredible adventure of courage and hope.
