Apple rolls out iOS 18 Public Beta 3, introducing innovative features to enhance user experience
Apple released iOS 18 Public Beta 3 for iPhone users, bringing with it a host of new features designed to elevate the user experience. Among these updates is a noteworthy addition to Safari—a feature aimed at minimizing distractions while browsing the web, which Apple had not previously revealed at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 10.
This latest beta release follows closely on the heels of iOS 18 Developer Beta 5, which introduced similar updates to the Photos app and the iPhone's home screen interface. However, it’s the new Safari feature that has captured the attention of many.
iOS 18 Public Beta 5 has dialed back some of these changes. The media library now returns to its familiar position at the top of the screen, while the Albums section has been reorganized, and the Recent Days collection includes saved images, offering a more streamlined and user-friendly experience.
In a bid to improve the web browsing experience, Safari now includes a feature called "Hide Distracting Items." This tool is designed to automatically remove clutter from web pages, such as ads or pop-ups, creating a cleaner, more focused reading environment. Users can also manually select which elements to hide, giving them greater control over their browsing experience.
Beyond these significant changes, iOS 18 Public Beta 5 introduces subtle yet impactful tweaks to the iPhone’s home screen UI. Dark mode icons have been added for several stock apps, including Find My and Maps, while icons for Screen Mirroring and Cellular Data in the Control Centre have been refined for better clarity and usability.
