Axis Bank has appointed Rajeev Mantri as its new Group Head and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He has over 25 years of experience in the banking and finance sector and will be based at the headquarters of Axis Bank in Mumbai. Rajeev Mantri Brings Experience from Bandhan Bank

Before joining Axis Bank, Mantri was Executive President and CFO at Bandhan Bank, where he worked from February 2024 to September 2026. Before joining Bandhan Bank, he was Managing Director and CFO at Citi India. He was responsible for finance operations across South Asia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Mantri also worked as CFO at TransUnion CIBIL, India’s credit information company. He spent nearly nine years with Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore and India. During this period, he worked on retail lending, cost management and other finance-related responsibilities. Earlier in his career, Mantri worked at Mashreq Bank in Dubai and Diageo in Mumbai.

Focus on Financial Management and Controls

Mantri has experience in balance sheet management, financial controls, risk-based pricing and regulatory reporting. He has also worked across financial markets in India and other countries.

He is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD.
