NVIDIA Expands AI for Media with Live Translation and Video Tools

NVIDIA adds seven AI tools for broadcasters, covering frame generation, HDR conversion, live translation, lip-sync dubbing and athlete motion tracking.

NVIDIA is further expanding its NVIDIA AI for Media suite of AI applications for broadcasters, sports production and streaming services by adding seven more AI technologies.

The company announced the new tools alongside the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC). One of the newly added technologies is Video Frame Generation (VFG), which is powered by generative AI to add frames between existing footage and increase the frame rate by two to four times. This technology allows for 6x slow-motion replays in sports broadcasts.

Could the use of AI speed up broadcast production? Another AI technology developed by NVIDIA is 3D Body Pose, which detects human joint locations and translates human movement into 2D and 3D data. It can be used for athlete replays and animation without the need for physical markers.

How could AI enhance video? NVIDIA Video Super Resolution can upscale video while minimising noise, blur and compression artefacts. TrueHDR converts SDR video into HDR.

For international broadcast media, NVIDIA LipSync synchronises lip movements with translated audio. Combined with Active Speaker Detection, it enables real-time translation and lip-synced dubbing. The Studio Voice feature removes background noise and reverberation from audio recordings.

On September 14, CoreWeave announced its Physical AI Field Engineering services targeting manufacturers and robotics companies. NVIDIA owns around 11.5% of CoreWeave and is one of its largest clients. CoreWeave operates 51 data centres across North America and Europe, with more than 250,000 NVIDIA GPUs deployed across them. Business Honor observes that NVIDIA is extending AI from media production into broader industrial workflows, linking GPU infrastructure with tools designed to automate video, audio and physical AI applications.
