Boston Consulting Group Names Mel Wolfgang North America Regional Chair

Boston Consulting Group strengthens North American operations with Wolfgang's appointment, signaling continued emphasis on AI-driven transformation and executive advisory services.

Just announced by BCG (Boston Consulting Group), Mel Wolfgang is the new North America Regional Chair responsible for overseeing BCG Operations across North America (U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica). Wolfgang replaces Sharon Marcil, who left office after having helped build BCG's competitive position in the region since 2021.

Wolfgang has spent almost 30 years with BCG and has extensive experience in leading large-scale organisational transformations and implementing effective change management strategies within an organization. His career has included numerous executive leadership roles, namely he was chair of the board committees related to developing senior partner pipelines, as well as leading BCG's overall people agenda on both a practice & regional basis, demonstrating his commitment to developing talent (and people) in all ways possible while promoting organisational excellence.

Christoph Schweizer, BCG CEO, stated: "Mel Wolfgang is much more than a revered confidant for C.E.O.'s and other top-level executives; he also leads at an exceptional level helping his organization & client companies through significant, large-scale transformational changes while leveraging technology (and artificial intelligence) for competitive advantage (during those transformations) and translating that ambition into performance for their organization." "He is an exceptionally capable, inspiring and driven leader working on behalf of our (clients) (and) people and (the BCG) corporation," said Schweizer.

Wolfgang works with clients on complex transformation projects, including industrial goods, transport and logistics, and the public sectors, which are all crucial to the economic growth of North America. Wolfgang's appointment allows BCG to take advantage of a growing number of clients who want to move their businesses digitally and use AI-based solutions during times of unprecedented change.

Wolfgang's enthusiasm for the opportunity to lead BCG in North America is clear. "I am extremely grateful for the chance to lead BCG in North America," he stated. "I am excited about partnering with outstanding BCG colleagues across the region as we assist our clients in solving complex issues, developing new capabilities, and delivering significant business results."

Business Honor is of the view that Mel Wolfgang's appointment as North America Regional Chair represents a strategic enhancement in BCG's transformation leadership and regional market positioning capabilities.
