Nvidia Expands Autonomous Driving Partnerships with Major Automakers and Uber

Nvidia's DRIVE Hyperion platform adopted by BYD, Geely, Isuzu, and Nissan to accelerate autonomous vehicle development rapidly.

Nvidia has announced new partnerships with major automobile manufacturers to advance autonomous driving systems. BYD, Isuzu and Nissan are developing Level 4 autonomous vehicle programs built on Nvidia’s compute and sensor architecture and have adopted the company’s DRIVE Hyperion platform. Isuzu and TIER IV are partnering to build a Level 4 autonomous bus using Nvidia's DRIVE AGX Thor system on a semiconductor chip.

The partnerships aim to enable vehicles to perceive their surroundings reason through complex situations and act safely making scalable Level 4 autonomy possible. Nvidia's founder and CEO Jensen Huang said that the autonomous vehicle revolution is here and everything that moves will eventually be self driving. The company's technology will play an important role in making this vision a reality.

In addition to the partnerships with automobile manufacturers and Uber plans to deploy an autonomous driving fleet in 28 cities across four continents powered by Nvidia's DRIVE AV software by 2028. Nvidia also expanded its existing partnerships with Hyundai and Kia with the goal of realizing Hyundai Motor Group's vision for safe and reliable driving technology. Nvidia's platform and Alpamayo open models will enable vehicles to achieve Level 4 autonomy that requires a high level of automation and safety.

The company is working with various robotics manufacturers to improve the abilities of physical AI, and a growing number of companies in the industry is adopting its technology. With its focus on autonomous driving and robotics, Nvidia is well positioned to play a leading role in the development of intelligent machines.
