AMD and NAVER Cloud Partner to Strengthen Korea’s AI Infrastructure

The partnership aims to develop scalable, high-performance AI infrastructure, advancing Korea’s sovereign cloud and enterprise AI capabilities.

AMD announced a strategic partnership with NAVER Cloud in order to advance national-scale AI infrastructure development in Korea. Under the agreement, NAVER Cloud will use AMD EPYC processors, including the company’s latest 6th Gen AMD EPYC processors, code-named “Venice,” to power large-scale AI training and inference tasks. In addition, the company will also benefit from AMD Instinct MI455X GPUs, which improves performance for various enterprise AI tasks and production environments.

AMD and NAVER Cloud will also collaborate on joint optimization of NAVER Cloud AI services and software stacks using AMD ROCm open software platforms and conduct joint R&D initiatives to provide advanced AI solutions and scalable cloud infrastructure for organizations in Korea. Providing greater control and confidence in managing their data, performance, and scalability requirements.

This partnership with NAVER Cloud brings together AMD’s leadership position in AI compute platforms and NAVER’s cloud capabilities to accelerate the next wave of AI innovation in Korea.” Soo Yeon Choi, CEO of NAVER Cloud, said, “By using AMD’s high-performance computer platforms, we are developing AI infrastructure that will enable our cloud services and accelerate innovation for enterprises and developers.”

This partnership is indicative of the growth of high-performance cloud AI platforms, enterprise AI infrastructure, and sovereign cloud platforms in Asia.
