Hitachi Invests $3M in Rithmik AI to Improve Mining

Hitachi invests $3M in Rithmik AI in order to improve mining equipment performance, reduce delays, and allow predictive maintenance.

The Canadian AI company Rithmik Solutions Ltd., specializing in advanced data analytics for mining equipment has received a USD 3 million investment from Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. Ltd. To advance the creation of predictive insights which helps mining operators in increasing equipment performance, reducing delays, and minimizing operating expenses.

By transforming complicated machine data into useful knowledge, Rithmik's AI technology allows maintenance teams to detect early indicators of equipment issues and take preventative measures before failures happen. By combining this technology with Hitachi's LANDCROS Connect Insight platform, the system will be able to identify the root cause of equipment problems and suggest measures for improving asset health and operational dependability.

Data from 40 dump trucks and six enormous hydraulic excavators at an operational mine was examined during testing that took place between August 2024 and July 2025. The results confirmed the system's accuracy in identifying initial issues, supporting operators in improving machine performance and reducing maintenance costs. The COO of Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas, Simon Wilson, stated that “Rithmik's open-platform strategy and advanced analytics match Hitachi's long-term goals.” Wilson also highlighted that the collaboration reflects Hitachi's dedication to offering solutions that solve client issues and improve productivity in mining.

In addition, the investment supports Hitachi's April 2027 shift to the LANDCROS brand. It is increasing the use of predictive analytics and more intelligent maintenance solutions in the mining industry by collaborating with AI experts like Rithmik. With the agreement, Hitachi will be positioned to lead the next generation of autonomous, efficient, and sustainable mining ecosystems worldwide in a future of completely data-optimized mining operations where intelligent equipment, predictive insights, and real-time analytics combine.
