The Industrial sector has experienced many changes in the past several years regarding the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on how engineers work with technology in General. Tata Technologies has begun to "shift" to what it considers a "domain-led" approach to support growth given these Market Dynamics. Tata Technologies, as stated by Chief Technology Officer Sriram Lakshminarayanan during a recent interview with PTI, believes that by taking this approach it will be able to expand its market share in the Product Engineering and Digital Services arena. The company plans to continue to focus its service offerings around these areas of expertise, while continuing to build on its foundation of Engineering Research, Digital Enterprise Solutions and the possibilities offered through Creative Technology and Innovative Process Engineering.

Lakshminarayanan noted that, "In the past, we saw engineering and IT as separate and distinct places, but now the lines are becoming increasingly blurred." This creates a challenge for us when we try to deliver offers and propositions to our customers. To help address these uncertainties, Tata Technologies is focusing on its unique domain knowledge, something Lakshminarayanan feels is essential. He points out, "You can’t simply be an expert in technology, the context of the domain is important to understand." The value proposition of Tata Technologies is built around the fact that it has a large amount of in-depth domain knowledge. "The best way to understand the customers is to understand the type of service we can provide them," he stated.

Tata Technologies has traditionally focused on engineering and digital enterprise services. However, the company is evolving along with its customers who are changing how they do business to better serve customers, operate their businesses more efficiently and launch products more quickly. Lakshminarayanan emphasizes that Tata Technologies will leverage its domain expertise to help address customers' business problems from a holistic perspective. Lakshminarayanan believes Tata Technologies will take advantage of the changes and challenges associated with AI driven transformation within the industrial sector and will be a leader in providing this transformation.
