HBX Group & Mastercard Launch Virtual Travel Pay

HBX Group has introduced a new virtual cards in partnership with Mastercard in order to simplify, secure, and quicken B2B travel payments worldwide.

A new virtual payment program is created by HBX Group (HBX.SM), a leading private B2B travel technology provider, in partnership with Mastercard.  With the aim of making travel payments simpler, safer, quicker and more flexible worldwide. It uses the Mastercard Wholesale Programme, that is supporting B2B payments in the travel industry for more than ten years. The partnership makes it simpler and faster for travel agencies to pay suppliers and manage payments by combining Mastercard's digital experience with HBX Group's travel operations knowledge.

The virtual cards are designed for major transactions, multiple currencies, and regional operations. HBX Group's partners in the EU, UK, and US are able to handle supplier payouts quickly, easily manage and settle transactions, and gain better visibility into cash flow. The system also offers fraud prevention, flexible financing, and payment assurance options, allowing partners to improve cashflow and reduce operational complexity. The addition of Mastercard's virtual card technology into HBX Group's global travel network, that connects over 54,000 travel dealers and 330,000 travel products across 170 countries, allows the partnership to bring innovation to one of the largest B2B networks in travel.

"At Mastercard, we aim to make payments simpler and businesses stronger by placing customers first," said Chiara Quaia, senior vice president, B2B Travel at Mastercard. The move is part of HBX Group's larger goal to expand its products beyond transportation and accommodation by introducing fintech solutions to the travel sector. Expansion into the APAC area is expected for the first half of 2026, followed by LATAM, as part of a global push to upgrade travel payments and increase operational efficiency for travel partners.
