China’s “Deep-Sea Shark 3” robot wins the Abu Dhabi 2025 competition, showing advanced design, combat skills, and growing robotics innovation.
The Chinese designed robot "Deep-Sea Shark 3" won the Battle of the Robots event at the Games of the Future Abu Dhabi 2025, beating top foreign competitors. The program included 16 teams from countries like the United States, Russia, Belarus, and India. "Deep-Sea Shark 3" weighed 110 kg and displayed impressive combat skills, striking down opponents on a regular basis. The Chinese robotic team leader, Qi Wenjie, stated that in the design of the circuits for the robot, an innovative algorithm has been used to avoid any current spikes. Ensuring that the motors are protected in the tough environment.
In another example of Chinese robotics creativity, six humanoid robots from Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics performed complex dance routines along with Chinese-American singer-songwriter Wang Leehom in Chengdu. It performed controlled arm waves, leg kicks, spins, and flips. Elon Musk, the US tech tycoon, described the performance on X as "impressive." Experts said that, this advancement suggests China's growing strength in technologies like mechanical design, electrical systems, battery management, and electronic controls. The domestic market share of independent industrial robots has now topped 50%, and humanoid robots are being used in manufacturing, logistics, and electrical inspection.
The effectiveness of the robot gives hope of future applications of intelligent robots even in tough environments. As China continues to build advanced technologies in robotics, it is creating a future where humans and robots interact through creation and invention that changes the world.
