The SECS-II library enables seamless integration of semiconductor tools with MES in hybrid manufacturing, reducing costs and speeding time to market.
The introduction of the SECS-II library will facilitate manufacturers using a Manufacturing Execution System (MES), by making it easier and faster to integrate and validate hybrid semiconductor and traditional manufacturing equipment on the business production line. This means that a manufacturer can get their products to market faster, with lower costs for integration, and fewer risks when deploying their new tool. A user connected to their equipment through this gateway can send and receive any SEMI SECS-II compliant message from a host or equipment, allowing them complete integration and validation of their GEM and GEM300 equipment.
“With Agil’SECS-II, we wanted to provide a flexible tool that can serve multiple types of customers who can benefit from a proven software foundation built on more than 15 years of deployment experience in semiconductor fabs worldwide,” explains Marc Engel, CEO, and Agileo Automation. “Our SECS-II driver is especially useful for validating the processes of hybrid fabs that combine semiconductor and non-semiconductor manufacturing equipment, such as silicon carbide (SiC) wafer production lines or advanced packaging lines. It enables product and process traceability with legacy MES and helps OEMs developing equipment for these lines create MES simulators to verify information flow between tools using heterogeneous communication protocols.”
Customized manufacturing environments with multiple industries each utilizing an MES (Manufacturing Execution System) designed for short production runs, along with an array of manufacturing equipment, including order management and inventory control. The Agil' SECS-II software facilitates the ability of lab and pilot plant environments that do not have a complete and functional MES installation to connect to and interface with several types of equipment utilized for production, inspection and measurement/quality assurance in order to provide full traceability of all manufactured products as well as ensuring the integrity of the production process through complete quality and process evaluation.
