Leman Engineering’s acquisition was made to support Midwest manufacturing and strengthen engineering abilities while supporting innovation in advanced power infrastructure.

Leman Engineering and Consulting (LEC), a Brookston, Indiana-based manufacturer of switchgear, control systems, and electrical distribution equipment, has been acquired by Mission Critical Group in Texas. MCG is an established provider of important power infrastructure solutions. The acquisition develops LEC as MCG's new base for power generation engineering research & development while growing MCG's manufacturing presence in the Midwest.

To improve MCG's ability to provide modern and reliable energy solutions, this department will focus on site generation, prime power, generator linking, under-the-meter systems, and microgrid innovation. According to Jeff Drees, CEO of Mission Critical Group, "LEC has a talented workforce and an excellent record for excellence and innovation." "Bringing companies like LEC into the MCG family strengthens our goal to build strong, U.S.-based power systems and strengthens each part of our operation, from manufacturing and engineering to field support."

MCG's growing platform, that supports the data center, healthcare, industrial, and energy sectors, is strengthened by LEC's experience in prime power system design, quality production, and custom engineering. It’s manufacturing of medium-voltage systems, UL 891 switchboards, and UL 1558 switchgear expands MCG's manufacturing capabilities over the country by offering technical depth.

Randy Leman, the president and founder of LEC, will join MCG as vice president of engineering and product management for electrical equipment as part of the merger. Under its present management, the Indiana business will continue to maintain its local presence and customers. This is MCG's sixth acquisition in two years, increasing its manufacturing space in the US to over 1 million square feet. MCG is establishing itself to shape the future of smart, renewable power infrastructure. Supporting innovation and adaptability for the future world by increasing its partnerships with universities and focusing on employee growth.
