Ulta Beauty and Target intend to end their partnership by August 2026, as Ulta further focuses on its worldwide growth.
The beauty partnership between Ulta Beauty and Target, lasting five years, will end by August 2026. Partnership, that started in 2021 and introduced Ulta's cosmetics to over 600 Target stores and online, was not expanded by either company. Under the partnership, customers can explore a number of Ulta Beauty products inside Target stores that range from high-end to low-cost brands. Till the end of the partnership, customers with reward accounts can still earn Ulta Beauty Rewards on eligible purchases.
Ulta Beauty Chief Retail Officer Amiee Bayer-Thomas remarked on the partnership, stating, “Ulta Beauty has changed the way people see beauty for 35 years by offering a unique combination of mass and luxury products. One of the several ways we spread beauty around the nation was with our partnership with Target. We believe that our goods, services, and shopping experiences will continue to be at the core of the beauty industry as we continue with our Ulta Beauty Unleashed plan.”
The partnership's success and impact on Target's cosmetics division were also commended. Target Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Rick Gomez stated, "We're pleased with what we achieved with Ulta Beauty." "The charm of beauty at Target is in offering fashionable products in a simple-to-use and inspiring manner. We'll continue to focus on offering creative, engaging brands at affordable prices.”
The declaration aligns with Ulta Beauty's worldwide growth. With first-quarter profits up 4.5% to $2.8 billion, the company reported a great start to 2025 and just purchased UK beauty shop Space NK. Ulta's goal of growth outside the Target partnership is clear in these actions.
