New agency partnership aims to grow brand awareness and deepen customer connections online.
Cafe Mesra has hired Mad Hat Asia as its new public relations, social media, influencer engagement, and brand activation agency partner in Malaysia. The 12-month agreement, which started in May 2025, has an option to be extended for a year. As a new brand that began during the pandemic, Cafe Mesra did not previously have an agency partner. The new partnership is to strengthen the brand's online platform further and reach more people in Malaysia.
Mad Hat Asia also manages Cafe Mesra's Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok social media. The agency has been able to execute creative content like popular TikTok videos and storytelling campaigns that highlight the brand’s community-first values. "Being in partnership with Mad Hat Asia is our bigger vision of having a strong digital presence. We want to create actual and genuine links to our customers," said Tan Kim Tai, Promotion and Trade Marketing Manager of Mesra Retail & Cafe.
Mad Hat Asia said Cafe Mesra chose them because they specialize in lifestyle branding and strong digital storytelling. The agency hopes to bring the brand's "mesra" (friendly) ethos to life through engaging online experiences. Among the first big efforts is a price reduction initiative aimed at helping customers cope with rising inflation. The move is a reflection of the brand's concern for affordability and taking care of the community. Kim Chew, Social Media Lead at Mad Hat Asia, added, “We’re excited to help bring Cafe Mesra’s story to life online. The brand is warm, relatable, and full of heart—perfect for today’s digital landscape.” This alliance is an important milestone in expanding Cafe Mesra's online presence and engaging with new markets nationwide.
