HCMC introduces analytics system to track travel trends and improve global tourism marketing strategy.
By introducing a new system to track and forecast global travel trends, Ho Chi Minh City is making important progress toward becoming Vietnam's leader in data-driven tourism. The HCMC Global Traveller Barometer (HCMC GTB) is a tool that uses advanced data analytics to help the city better understands and draws in foreign visitors.
The HCMC Tourism Promotion Centre and The Outbox Company is a Vietnamese company that specializes in tourism data, cooperated to create the system, which was unveiled on July 29. 13 major markets, including the United States, Japan, South Korea, Australia, China and nations in Europe and Southeast Asia will be the focus of the trial program which is scheduled to begin in 2025.
Data on travel demand, preparedness and tourist behavior will be gathered and examined by the HCMC GTB. This covers their perceptions of the city as the experiences they are looking for and the best time to come. Clear up-to-date insights that can direct marketing campaigns, improve services and influence tourism legislation are intended to be given to businesses and tourism officials.
The project intends to enhance Ho Chi Minh City's standing as a competitive, astute travel destination in the area, according to Nguyen Cam Tu, Director of the Tourism Promotion Center. Additionally, it encourages creativity in the city, particularly in light of recent reforms to the administration.
The tool is a dedication for utilizing current market research to promote Vietnam's tourist growth according to Outbox CEO Dang Manh Phuoc. The city focuses to make better judgments, draw more tourists and improve the whole tourism experience by depending on accurate data and analytics. This action reflects a growing global trend that is about how these data-driven tourism plans are becoming essential for locations trying to maintain their competitiveness.
