Paris Couture shows radiant skin, horned hair, ’80s glam, and disco lips shine.
Paris Haute Couture Week is the premier event for establishing the upcoming major trends in fashion and beauty. This legendary event which takes place twice a year goes beyond regular fashion weeks by presenting amazing wearable art such as architectural gowns and avant-garde designs that seem more appropriate for a museum than for the streets. However, the outfits are just one point of the creativity. This season's beauty trends have been extraordinary with pushing hair and makeup into bold creativity.
The runway is a place for bold expression, from the iridescent, glowing skin of molten glass to the eye-catching horned updos during Georges Hobeika's show. Imane Ayissi's glam from the 1980s brought vivid pastels and blazing red lips back into the forefront, while Iris Van Herpen's metallic, iridescent brows provided an ethereal edge. At Mia Kostov's presentation, nostalgia also made comeback with crimped hair, evoking the pop stars of the early 2000s.
In the meantime, "disco lips" is a recent beauty trend that is expected to be famous on the red carpets and in the beauty market. This trend shows the fun energy of disco balls underneath party lights by changing lips into sparkling statements with subtle shimmer and highly shined glosses. Disco lips of today are refined, layered for a multifaceted finish that feels new yet wearable, in contrast to the glitter glosses of the early 2000s. The adaptability of disco lips is highlighted by makeup artists, who use transparent, shimmering gloss for a more subtle shimmer or dramatic, chunky sparkle for festival evenings. The daring Parisian trends of this season herald a joyful embracing of glitter, texture, and unrestrained inventiveness as fashion and beauty continue to dance together.
