Omani citizens can travel to China visa-free for up to 30 days starting June 9, 2025, marking a boost in tourism and cultural ties.
From June 9, 2025, Omani citizens will be permitted to travel to China visa-free for 30-day stays, a major move towards deepening exchange between the two countries in terms of travel and culture. The practice, which will hold for one year until June 8, 2026, also extends to Saudi Arabian, Kuwaiti, and Bahraini nationals.
This move simplifies travel to one of the world’s most historic and diverse destinations. Without having to deal with drawn-out visa applications, Omani visitors can now visit China's most famous sites, including the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and the contemporary wonders of Shanghai.
Under the new policy, Omani passport holders can enter China for tourism, business, family visits, or transit. For eligibility, visitors must have passports that are at least six months from the date of their intended stay. Although no visa is needed, visitors are required to meet Chinese entry requirements and any health requirements that exist at the time of travel.
The visa-free access is expected to attract more Omani travelers eager to discover China’s cultural heritage, cuisine, and natural beauty. Cities like Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, and Hangzhou offer immersive experiences, from ancient temples and imperial palaces to vibrant street markets and scenic landscapes.
This travel package is indicative of China's deepening engagement with the Gulf states and aptly complements Oman's broader tourism plans. More spontaneous and unplanned visits become possible with greater accessibility, supporting stronger people-to-people ties and cultural interaction.
Omani tourists traveling to China must stay updated with official announcements and travel advisories. This one-year period provides a fresh outlook of tourism and marks the beginning of a promising phase for China-Oman relations.
