Agileo Automation, a leader in control and connectivity solutions for semiconductor manufacturing, has announced the expansion of its A²ECF-SEMI automation framework to include SEMI’s EDA (Equipment Data Acquisition) standards suite. This addition will enable Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to provide structured, high-bandwidth data to semiconductor fabs, boosting process improvements and accelerating innovation through artificial intelligence (AI).
SEMI EDA standards integration, the offspring of SECS/GEM and GEM300, is revolutionizing hardware communication in semiconductor fabrication. It enables manufacturers to make operations more efficient, minimize downtime, and optimize overall production processes through the utilization of vast amounts of valid and actionable data.
As semiconductor fabs increasingly get connected and automated, the capability of the equipment to effortlessly integrate and provide high-quality, structured data is becoming a market differentiator. Agileo's A²ECF-SEMI platform, coupled with Agil'GEM and Agil'GEM300, assists OEMs in addressing these requirements, making decisions quicker with data and offering a competitive advantage.
Agileo Automation has already performed EDA Freeze 2 server and client tests with EDA-supporting equipment manufacturers, and the company is currently cooperating with early adopters in order to add these standards to their equipment. Together, this will shortly yield an end-to-end solution for OEMs that require EDA Freeze 2 or 3, something that is becoming more and more necessary in Request for Quotation (RFQ) semiconductor equipment processes.
