TFI outlines priorities to support sustainable fertilizer practices and engage with Congress in the administration.
The list of 2025–2026 public policy priorities for working together with the Trump administration, regulatory bodies and Congress was made public today by the Fertilizer Institute (TFI). As the 119th Congress begins its session, TFI President and CEO Corey Rosenbusch stated that the organization has actively begun advocating for policies that promote the sustainable continuation of the fertilizer industry while also supporting American farmers.
Tax & Trade, Permitting, Registrations & Designations, Safety & Security, Energy & Economic Growth, Environment, Transportation, Innovation, and most critically, Farm Bill Reauthorization are the eight main sectors that comprise TFI's priorities. According to Corey Rosenbusch, the Farm Bill's main goal is to conserve the fertilizer sector, especially by encouraging farms to adopt the science-based 4R Nutrient Stewardship methods and removing obstacles to their adoption.
He highlighted policy goals such as granting Certified Crop Advisors (CCAs) certain Technical Service Provider (TSP) authorities to expand cost-share opportunities for growers cooperating with Ag retailers. Rosenbusch also noted the organization's push for financial incentives through the Conservation Stewardship Program to encourage the use of conservation and environmental best practices. Although TFI is looking at alternative solutions, its main priorities are supporting the domestic fertilizer industry and promoting laws that incentivize farms to implement nutrient stewardship measures.
TFI aims to inform those making decisions about the fertilizer industry's important function in producing half of the world's food through its member-driven public policy initiatives. Corey Rosenbusch highlighted TFI's commitment to working with the Trump administration and the 119th Congress, while also highlighting the industry's importance in helping farmers improve soil and produce the crops needed to feed the world's growing population.
