Netflix announces animated series Clash of Cans, led by Fletcher Moules and Ron Weiner, based on Supercell’s popular game.
Netflix will be streaming a new animated series, Clash of Clans, based on a popular mobile game, Clash of Clans. Fletcher Moules, the producer— who is known for Entergalactic (2022) and Agent Elvis (2023) is working with Ron Weiner, the writer is also known for 30 Rock (2006) and Silicon Valley (2014). The animation will be directed by ICON Creative Studio.
The announcement was made with a teaser trailer released on May 20, on Supercell’s official YouTube channel. Although still in production, the series is expected to have close ties to Clash Royale, another popular game from Supercell.
The key image teaser showcases a bulky man with a mustache who seems barbaric, with a sword in his hand and arrows piercing through his flesh. The game is all about attacking other players, gathering resources, building a village, managing the area built, and training the troops.
Over 355 million US dollars were made via in-app purchases in Clash of Clans last year, which makes it one of the financially successful games in the landscape. The team is trying to bring in new features and is also working on the UI and UX to improve the gameplay experience and to keep the game exciting and fresh.
Fans of the game are eager to see their favorite characters and battles come to life on screen, and expectations are high for the upcoming series. As more details about the series are released, it is expected to draw a wider audience beyond just the game's players, especially as Netflix continues to expand its library of gaming-inspired content.
