TeqBlaze enhances its Prebid SDK with rewarded video ads on iOS and Android to power in-app monetization.
TeqBlaze, a programmatic ad solutions firm, has given a major enhancement to its Prebid SDK by adding rewarded video ads support for iOS and Android. The move represents a significant milestone in the development of the SDK, allowing publishers to enhance fill rates and maximize their in-app monetization efforts without affecting user experience.
The addition of rewarded video ads to the Prebid SDK responds to the increasing need for smooth and efficient video-based ad solutions in mobile apps. Anastasia-Nikita Bansal, CEO at TeqBlaze, noted that the new ad format is intended to address the rising demand for profit-yielding in-app ads without compromising on the smooth and non-disruptive user experience. "SDK-rewarded video is now available in the Prebid Mobile SDK, enhancing user engagement and revenue for publishers," she said.
Before this update, rewarded ads in Prebid used generic interstitial ad logic, making it less flexible and efficient for reward configuration. That is now changing with the help of TeqBlaze's CPO, Olga Zharuk, and CTO, Vladislav Isaiko, who have developed a dedicated rewarded video format. With this new format, several demand sources can be involved in real-time auctions, with Prebid SDK responsible for bidding and Google's Mobile Ads (GMA) SDK for ad rendering. This innovation is far more efficient and effective in delivering rewarded video ads.
To iOS developers, integration implies invoking Prebid SDK's 'RewardedVideoAdUnit' class to forward bid requests and targeting data to GMA and forward the winning bid through Google Ad Manager (GAM). To Android developers, integration implies invoking 'RewardedVideoAdUnit' through custom config ID, forwarding video parameters, and letting GAM render the winning ad.
This launch is a pivotal move towards bridging the gap with the OpenRTB 2.6 release, where the SDK lacked the critical feature of rewarded video ads.
