The Ministry of Tourism is launching an upgraded Incredible India app with AI and DigiLocker features for a personalized travel experience.
The Ministry of Tourism will launch an upgraded version of the Incredible India mobile app, which will offer a smooth and customized travel experience to users. The new app will possess sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) functions and include a DigiLocker facility, thus emerging as an all-encompassing digital travel guide.
As per authorities, the new app will have diverse needs, ranging from planning itineraries to arranging accommodations, transportation, and ticket reservations. Consumers are now able to enter their interests and location, and AI will present their customized vacation plans based on their desires—be it wildlife, well-being, adventure, or spiritual travel. The app will also recommend travel duration, making the experience personalized based on the user's interest.
One of the distinguishing features of the updated app is the incorporation of DigiLocker, which enables tourists to upload and view significant identification documents such as Aadhaar cards, passports, and other travel documents in a secure format on their smart phones. It dispenses with the risk of losing important papers during travel and provides an additional layer of ease and assurance to tourists.
Apart from these innovations, the app will have a chatbot service to guide tourists with questions, provide information on places, and provide travel packages. The Incredible India app will also be a digital repository for tourism content, offering stakeholders and government departments a gateway to a carefully curated repository of images, films, brochures, and newsletters of India's vibrant tourism industry.
This is coming after the government introduced the redesigned Incredible India digital portal in 2024 with the aim of improving both domestic and foreign travel experiences. The new upgrade on the app is one of the initiatives by the government to digitalize India's tourism services, making them meet international standards.
