New incentives promote electric vehicle adoption, boosting environmental and economic benefits.
PETERSBURG, Fla. — Duke Energy Florida has announced the launch of three innovative programs aimed at promoting the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across the state. The Charger Prep Credit, Off-Peak Charging Credit, and Fleet Advisory programs are designed to offer both, the residential and the business customers that is more flexible, cost-effective options for integrating EVs into their daily lives and operations.
“These programs are part of our commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency,” said Melissa Seixas, Duke Energy Florida state president. “By making EVs more accessible, we’re supporting our customers in reducing their carbon footprint while contributing to Florida’s clean energy future.”
The Charger Prep Credit Program provides a one-time financial credit to help cover the costs of installing EV charging infrastructure, including necessary electrical upgrades. This program is open to both residential and business customers.
For residential EV owners, the Off-Peak Charging Credit Program offers a $7.50 monthly credit for charging during off-peak hours, promoting energy conservation. Originally a successful pilot, it’s now a permanent offering with no enrollment limit.
Businesses can benefit from the Fleet Advisory Program, receiving up to $12,000 to offset the cost of electrifying their vehicle fleets. This program helps companies understand the operational and environmental advantages of transitioning to EVs.
