Meta Unveils AI Memory for Smarter, Personalized Suggestions

Meta's new AI Memory feature personalizes recommendations using user data from Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger.

With the tremendous growth of the AI industry, Meta is constantly improving its AI chatbot. Meta just launched a new Memory feature with the goal of improving personalization. As shared with the Meta AI chatbot on Facebook, Messenger, and WhatsApp, it will capture "certain details, like how they love to travel and learn new languages." According to the firm, only in the US and Canada is the feature available to iOS and Android users.

Meta's AI memory capability enables the system to remember important information from previous interactions, much like Google or OpenAI. For instance, Meta AI will take into account a user's previous comment of being vegan when making recommendations, such as breakfast ideas, to make sure they suit the user's tastes. Meta affirms that you can remove Meta AI's memories at any moment and that it will only retain specific information you provide it in individual talks.

According to Meta, the chatbot will now use account data from all of its apps to provide customized suggestions. This may include information from a user's Facebook page about where they live or about videos they've just watched on Instagram.

As a design, Meta explains that when a user asks Meta AI to recommend something this weekend that you and your family might enjoy. Meta AI may recommend tickets for that weekend's country music show at your local stadium and reservations at a nearby mealtime place based on the home address you have listed on your Facebook profile, recent views of reels that feature live performances by various country artists, and the recollection that you have a partner and two small children. Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger all offer this feature for users in the US and Canada.
