LUYTEN is building Australia's first multi-storey 3D printed home using AI-powered technology, revolutionizing construction.
LUYTEN, an innovative construction technology company, is utilizing AI-powered PLATYPUS X12 Crane 3D Construction Printer to help create the first multi-storey 3D printed house in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere. The project has made a giant leap from previous 3D printing attempts, where houses could only be built on a single level under ideal weather conditions.
The multi-storey, 350 m2 house is being built during Melbourne's summer heat, where temperatures reach between 35-42°C. In addition, storms are quite frequent here, which adds additional complexity to this construction project. The house design incorporates some contemporary elements: the lift core and noise-cancelling walls, designed with the acoustic principle of diffraction; hence, the printer proved capable of opening new horizons for 3D construction.
LUYTEN's AI-driven printer employs reinforced learning algorithms that guarantee the accuracy of each layer, since concrete layers form structural parts in building, rather than for decoration purposes. The house is to be completed within just five weeks instead of the regular 8-11 months it would have taken.
The first CEO to inhabit a 3D printed house will be Ahmed Mahil, the CEO of LUYTEN, with the goal of breaking psychological barriers and defeating the skepticism of the industry. His aim is to show the world the potential of 3D printing in revolutionizing the housing market.
The Federal and State governments also express interest in this project by showing support to 3D printing as the answer to Australia's housing crisis. LUYTEN has worked with one of the most reputable engineering companies globally, Bollinger + Grohmann, to obtain structural integrity and safety. Research and design collaborations have also been undertaken with the University of New South Wales that change the face of 3D printed homes.
