AI-driven enterprise search is saving HR departments’ valuable time and improving workplace efficiency globally.

In the ever-evolving landscape of human resources (HR), artificial intelligence (AI) is proving invaluable, particularly when it comes to centralizing and organizing workplace policy documents. Traditionally, HR professionals and employees alike have faced challenges in quickly finding necessary documents like parental leave policies, benefits packages, and vacation details. This process often involves asking multiple people and waiting for responses. Now, AI is stepping in to streamline this process, saving time and reducing repetitive tasks.

AI-powered enterprise search tools are revolutionizing how HR departments manage and deliver information. These technologies use AI to help employees and HR teams quickly locate policy documents, employee benefits details, and other essential resources within an organization. By integrating AI with existing HR systems, solutions like Dayforce’s AI agent can provide instant access to the required information, including attaching relevant PDFs directly within responses.

For instance, Cisco Webex has recently beta-tested its AI agent, “Kate,” which can answer HR-related questions and provide quick access to important documents. During a recent trial, Cisco’s director of product management, Manoj Muthavarapu, shared how the AI agent helped him swiftly find information on company benefits for new parents, which would have otherwise taken a longer, multi-step process involving HR.

The integration of AI in HR isn't new; it’s been steadily growing, with Microsoft and Slack leading the way with AI-driven solutions like Microsoft 365 Copilot and Slack’s AI integrations. Despite these advancements, HR professionals still face challenges in fully adopting AI due to gaps in understanding and confidence in AI tools. A recent survey revealed that many senior leaders in HR have yet to attend AI training or feel confident using AI without compromising data security.

As AI continues to evolve in HR, it’s clear that these tools will become indispensable in helping HR teams stay efficient, compliant, and responsive to employee needs.
