Bengaluru's New Cybersecurity Hub Set to Lead Global Innovation and Address Skills Shortage
In a groundbreaking move for India's cybersecurity landscape, ISRO Chairman S. Somanath is set to launch a cutting-edge cybersecurity research and development (R&D) center near Bengaluru's international airport this Thursday. The new facility, named Cyber Nalanda, is being established by SISA, a global leader in forensics-driven cybersecurity solutions.
Cyber Nalanda represents a significant leap forward in cybersecurity, aiming to transform how digital security is approached globally. The project is more than a technological advancement—it's a bold statement of commitment to securing the digital future. According to SISA, this initiative will not only enhance India’s position as a hub for cybersecurity innovation but also focus on critical collaboration with academic institutions and substantial investments in research.
Dharshan Shanthamurthy, Founder and CEO of SISA, emphasized that the company will dedicate 10% of its annual revenues to R&D. This strategic investment aims to develop solutions designed in India but tailored to protect a global audience. The center will also address the global shortage of cybersecurity professionals by offering ANAB Accredited certification programs. With an estimated 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity jobs worldwide, Cyber Nalanda seeks to bridge this skills gap and prepare the next generation of experts.
This initiative marks a pivotal moment for India's tech industry, aligning with global efforts to bolster digital security and foster a robust cybersecurity workforce.
