Lumen Technologies partners with Amazon Web Services for enterprise cloud connectivity, driving significant stock gains and market momentum
Lumen Technologies’ share price shot up by 10% due to its recent partnership announcement with Amazon Cloud Services. The company announced a strategic partnership with AWS Interconnect to make enterprise cloud connectivity easy, ending Wednesday’s trading session at $8.59. This partnership sees Lumen emerge as the first network service provider to partner with AWS Interconnect’s last-mile connectivity services, putting the Louisiana-based telecommunications company at the forefront of digital network solutions.
The partnership will allow companies to create private cloud connectivity directly between their branch office or data center to AWS using simple console portals. This will help them reduce their deployment time from weeks to just minutes without depending on various providers. Specifically, this partnership will focus on industries that require large-scale data transfer, such as generative AI and machine learning, along with the healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and media industry.
According to Jim Fowler, the Chief Technology and Product Officer at Lumen Technologies, "networking and cloud infrastructure cannot continue to be separate; modern apps require both of them to be combined." He mentioned that the Lumen network allows for cloud connectivity that is fast, easy, and seamless, making it possible for businesses to simplify and move faster and run intensive apps.
The performance of Lumen shares shows that investors are pleased with the digital transformation plans of the firm. Its share prices are up by 10.6% on a year-to-date basis and even increased by 162% in the past twelve months.
