Volvo Cars Becomes Exclusive European Distributor for Lynk & Co Brand

Partnership leverages Volvo's retailer network to expand Lynk & Co's European presence and market reach.

Volvo Cars and Geely Auto are excited to announce their intention to form a broad cooperation alliance through the signing of this memorandum of understanding. As part of this partnership, Volvo Cars will be given the exclusive license to distribute and operate Lynk & Co's business operations in Europe. This will allow Volvo Cars to leverage its existing retailer network and sales infrastructure to facilitate the expansion of the Chinese company's business operations throughout Europe and will help Volvo Cars to establish itself as the primary importer and distributor of the Lynk & Co vehicle sales and service operations throughout all relevant European markets.

In addition to pursuing growth opportunities through establishing operational synergies between the two automotive brands, Volvo Cars will maintain its own separate brand identity while collaborating to continue to appeal to different target markets. The Lynk & Co customer segments allow for easy identification and align well with Volvo's overall customer segment, making them very natural partners for collaboration within the automotive industry. This is a significant strategic expansion opportunity for Volvo Cars with no product investments required in order to reach these additional consumer or market segments.

Lynk & Co benefits substantially from access to Volvo Cars' trusted retailer networks and conveniently located service points, enabling the brand to scale its European presence more rapidly than through independent distribution channels. The partnership builds upon an existing arrangement where both brands' vehicles are already sold through selected shared retailers at specific European locations.

Erik Severinson, chief commercial officer at Volvo Cars, emphasized the strategic value: "With this new arrangement, we will leverage our commercial system to support Lynk & Co's growth ambitions in Europe. At the same time, it enables Volvo Cars and our retail partners to address a wider customer base."  The partnership is subject to final agreement completion between the parties.

Business Honor views Volvo's exclusive distribution partnership with Lynk & Co as a strategic market expansion opportunity.
