Visionary’s XB5 USB-C bridge allows single-cable BYOD conferencing with 4K video, audio, networking, and charging across AV-over-IP systems.
Visionary, a global leader in the AV-over-IP space has announced the shipping of XB5 USB-C conferencing bridge, which provides a simpler and more efficient solution for BYOD-allowed AV-over-IP conferencing systems. The XB5 matches with Visionary’s 1GbE AV-over-IP ecosystem and is created to meet the needs of today’s collaborative spaces, where users can easily connect their laptops.
Users can connect their personal devices to the XB5 by using only one USB-C cable, engineered for conference rooms, boardrooms, classrooms, and hybrid learning spaces. The single-cable USB-C conferencing solution supports high-quality audio, Ethernet connectivity, bidirectional 4K60 4:4:4 video, and USB-C charging up to 100W. The XB5 makes unnecessary the need for additional adapters, extenders, or interface devices, which are all combined into one device. True plug-and-play BYOD conferencing on Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS platforms is guaranteed by the XB5’s support for UVC and UAC protocols.
“The XB5 is created to make system integration smoother and offer an easy user experience,” said Scott Freshman, COO at Visionary. The XB5 can be applied for flexible installations as it operates over standard 1GbE networks and integrates perfectly with Visionary's 5-Series AV-over-IP endpoints. Audio embedding and de-embedding are also simplified by the inclusion of Dante and AES67 audio networking, which allows unified interaction with DSPs and network audio systems.
For system integrators, the XB5 makes the integration of AV systems easier for hybrid workspaces. For end-users, the XB5 eases fast connectivity to cameras, microphones, speakers, and displays through Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Webex platforms. The future-ready design and fast virtual matrix switching of the XB5 predict a promising future for intelligent, scalable, and collaborative workspaces.
