Four New Metal-Bezel Models Combine Iconic Durability with Contemporary Design Aesthetics.
With a bold launch of four new models from its acknowledged G-Shock line, Casio has expanded upon its legendary timepiece and introduced to Europe four new variants of metallic bezel watches, all with bold red faces. This change in distribution signifies Casio's desire to cultivate new consumer market interest beyond its established stronghold in Japan. All four versions feature Casio's renowned toughness and modern styling, combining exquisite finishes and solid quality across an entire range of options.
The GM-110YRA-8JF includes a metal bezel hybrid analog/digital movement; and, has a brilliant metallic red face with a comfortable stainless steel bezel. Very cleanly styled "oak" inspired, slim design with the distinctive red dial accents defines the lines of the GM-2100YRA-8JF. The familiar looking square design of the classic digital GM-5600YRA-8JF is presented with attention grabbing bold red display; whereas, the rounded GM-6900YRA-8JF is presented larger to emphasize its bold red presence.
Introducing the G-Shock to European consumers is a part of a well-calculated plan on Casio's part. So far, Casio has listed G-Shocks in the Netherlands, Spain and Germany. They will be priced according to each model, with the hybrid model GM-2100YRA-8A priced at €260; while the digital version costs €349. Further information on price points for other models will be released shortly.
The red displays on G-Shock watches represent a new direction for the company away from the traditional monochromatic design. This will attract both loyal collectors and people looking for a unique watch style to wear on a daily basis. In addition, including these new watches in the expanded G-Shock product line-up fits into Casio's overall strategy of expanding into different categories of watches; such as the recent launch of vintage style digital watches with leather straps.
