The EonStor GS 5024U is Infortrend Technology Inc.'s most powerful enterprise storage solution ever, built for the rising needs of AI and high-performance computing. The new flagship storage system is a major upgrade in technology, with the capabilities to provide unparalleled performance for data-heavy applications. Utilizing the Intel Xeon® 6 processor as its driving force, the EonStor GS 5024U has a remarkable throughput capacity of 125GB/s – an increase of 2.5× from their previous highest-performance model. The system's design incorporates advanced technology, allowing it to meet the many complex storage demands of current AI systems, and yields a performance of 2.4 million IOPS.

Among the primary advancements in technology is the integration of PCIe 5.0 SSDs; enhanced networking capabilities provided through NVMe file systems, along with GPUDirect Storage technologies. All of which are built to improve GPU usage, as well as transfer data at extremely high rates. The enhanced compatibility the system has with parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre), allows for the seamless transport of hundreds of gigabytes of information. As such, the storage will perform exceptionally well within AI model training, inference, and real-time analytics environments. Another primary advantage of the storage is its enterprise-level reliability; as there are dual redundant controllers that permit continuous operation under heavy workloads, and the system has substantial room for expansion (i.e., 1.4PB of internal capacity and up to 5.6PB of NVMe SSDs or as much as 20PB of HDD expansions).

An automated storage tiering feature intelligently manages data, keeping active files and AI models on high-performance tiers while migrating completed projects to more cost-efficient storage options.
