Willis Re appoints Sankha Ghosh as EVP and Group CIO to drive digital transformation and growth.

Global reinsurance leader Willis Re has appointed Sankha Ghosh, its Executive Vice President and Group Chief Information Officer (CIO). With more than 27 years of experience in technology leadership, Ghosh will lead the company's digital transformation and innovation agenda. His areas of expertise are business transformation, cloud technologies, data management, and digital innovation.

Before joining Willis Re, Ghosh held executive vice president and CIO positions at AssuredPartners. As a CIO, he led technology-driven business value creation, security, and operational process simplification efforts. Ghosh held senior CIO positions at Dollar Financial Group, GE, and Synchrony Financial, where he was responsible for executing large-scale technology transformation and global teams. Specifically, at Synchrony Financial, he oversaw 250 IT professionals and directed re-platforming a $40 billion online banking platform to enable seamless migration to digital banking services.

Discussing his new position, Ghosh stated that he was eager to make a contribution towards Willis Re's continuous expansion. "Reinsurance is a sector in which technology, data, and innovation create tangible impact for clients," he said. "I am excited to join as CIO of Willis Re and contribute to furthering the company's technological growth."

Ghosh's hiring is one of a series of moves to further bolster Willis Re's leadership. The company has made a number of high-profile new hires in the past few months, such as Neville Ching as Director in Bermuda and Steve Blumhagen as a producer in Upstate New York, to increase their market footprint. Ghosh's experience will strengthen the company's technological roadmap and assist in driving its international growth plans.
