Backed by Deepinder Goyal, LAT Aerospace seeks to revolutionize India’s aerospace industry.
LAT Aerospace, the Deepinder Goyal-backed aviation startup, is looking to change the face of the Indian aerospace sector. The firm revealed its ambition to develop a Made in India gas turbine engine from scratch. Based in Bengaluru, LAT Aerospace is putting together a propulsion research team to design and develop flight-worthy, lightweight, and efficient gas turbines for aviation.
On social media, Goyal highlighted that the startup is set to pioneer in the domain of aerospace technology. Although India has attempted to create indigenous gas turbine engines in the past, LAT Aerospace is closer than ever to achieving this dream. The engine will be used to propel short takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and others, making India self-reliant in advanced aviation technology. LAT Aerospace is seeking experienced turbine, rotor, or control system engineers to join their workforce. The company guarantees a distinctive work culture where engineers get the freedom to innovate, "build, break, and repeat" by working hands-on with turbomachinery, combustion, and thermal systems.
Different from typical business-driven teams, the research will be led by engineers, with no bureaucracy and no endless meetings, Goyal said. With this, the team is assured that they can work on real-world challenges and test the boundaries of aerospace design and engineering. With a $20 million investment by Goyal, LAT Aerospace aims to build an India-designed gas turbine engine that has the potential to revolutionize regional air connectivity and aviation sector self-sufficiency. This ambitious project can change India's aerospace scenario, positioning it as a leading player in international aviation.
