CGI deploys cloud-based ERP system for the City of Rockville to modernize public administration.
CGI Inc., a worldwide IT and business consulting services leader, has successfully deployed an improved financial and administration system for the City of Rockville, Maryland. This strategic initiative included the transition of the city's legacy applications to CGI Advantage, a lean, cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution tailored for government entities.
Issued on July 8, the project is part of a series of long-term projects for CGI and the City of Rockville to utilize advanced technology to transform the operations of the city. The just-launched CGI Advantage system offers a quicker, more intuitive interface designed to improve remote and in-office city employees' user experience. Being an end-to-end ERP solution, it consolidates financial, human resources, purchase, and budgeting operations into a shared platform, reducing day-to-day operations and improving data accessibility to several departments.
Later rollout phases will add additional capabilities such as vendor self-service portals and open enrollment, increasing autonomy for external partners and workers and real-time access to critical information. CGI Advantage is unique in its secure, scalable, and configurable platform addressing the unique requirements of the public sector. Through a cloud migration, the City of Rockville saves on infrastructure costs while achieving increased flexibility, system accessibility, and improved disaster recovery.
CGI's continued dedication to digital transformation in the public sector is reflected in this ERP upgrade. With decades of expertise in government-focused IT solutions, CGI is still helping municipalities use advanced technologies to achieve operational excellence. CGI's Advantage solution establishes the business as a reliable partner in the modernization of public administration, as governments use ERP platforms more frequently to increase efficiency and transparency.
