Visionary’s XB5 enables simple BYOD connections to AV-over-IP systems using one cable.
At InfoComm 2025, Visionary will introduce the XB5 a new USB-C conferencing bridge designed to make BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) easier and more efficient in professional AV environments. The XB5 allows users to connect their personal laptops to a full AV-over-IP system using a single USB-C cable. Without requiring the installation of software or drivers this connection offers Ethernet video, audio and up to 100W of charging power.
For users, the XB5 simplifies meeting room access. A laptop may instantaneously connect to the room's cameras, microphones, speakers, and screens by just plugging in a single wire. It supports major platforms like Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS using standard UVC and UAC protocols, enabling immediate use with popular conferencing apps like Zoom, Webex, and Microsoft Teams.
For integrators, the XB5 combines multiple AV functions—such as USB extension, video switching, and audio interfacing—into one device. It natively integrates with Visionary’s 1GbE AV-over-IP system and 5-Series endpoints, streamlining system design and reducing the need for extra hardware. The XB5 is perfect for networked audio applications since it supports advanced audio capabilities like Dante and AES67, including AEC audio surrounding and de-embedding.
Virtual matrix routing, which enables both local and far-end video and audio to be transferred across the AV network with no delay, is one of the XB5's primary features. This improves teamwork and the effectiveness of meetings. Scott Freshman, COO of Visionary noted that the XB5 tackles a widespread challenge by simplifying the connection between personal devices and professional AV systems. Through a single connection, it provides simplicity, scalability and performance—all of which consumers and integrators desire. Visionary is enabling smooth, scalable and user-friendly BYOD integration for contemporary meeting spaces with the XB5.
