The 2024 facelift of the Opel/Vauxhall Corsa-e proves its efficiency in Green NCAP’s latest tests.

The Opel/Vauxhall Corsa-e continues to impress with its exceptional energy efficiency, following its latest facelift. This small electric supermini, part of the 6th generation Corsa lineup, showcases Opel’s commitment to sustainable mobility with the 115 kW electric version, featuring a 51 kWh battery offering a usable capacity that delivers impressive performance.

In Green NCAP’s energy efficiency tests, the Corsa-e earned top scores, especially in the Highway Test where many small cars often fall short. Despite its compact size, the Corsa-e achieved an impressive result of 15.7 kWh/100 km on dry roads at 9°C, offering a real-world range of around 360 km. This demonstrates Opel’s ability to produce an efficient vehicle that performs well on motorways, an area often dominated by larger electric vehicles.

Even under cold weather conditions, the Corsa-e impressed with a low 23.9 kWh/100 km result in the Cold Ambient Test at -7°C, demonstrating its robustness even under not-so-ideal temperatures. However, the cabin heating performance under these cold conditions was less efficient, as the automatic air conditioning took more time to warm up the interior, which was able to reach a maximum of 18.7°C after 10 minutes. Although this is not uncommon in the electric vehicle industry, it might impact comfort in colder climates due to a slower heating rate.

Despite this, the Corsa-e scored 99% Average Score and scored a perfect 5 Green Stars. This makes it one of the most energy-efficient electric vehicles tested by Green NCAP. This rating represents how efficient the vehicle is and demonstrates Opel's leading role in offering sustainable electric solutions.

The 2024 Opel/Vauxhall Corsa-e comes with an optional 11 kW on-board charger, making it highly versatile and efficient for use both in the city and for longer journeys.
