Flipkart, Appointed, Seema Nair

Flipkart strengthens HR leadership with Seema Nair as Chief Human Resources Officer, focusing on employee experience.

Walmart-owned e-commerce giant Flipkart has appointed Seema Nair as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In this role, Seema will lead all human resources operations for the company, working closely with leadership and HR teams to strengthen Flipkart's HR strategies and enhance its employee experience.

The chief executive officer of Flipkart, Kalyan Krishnamurthy, issued an internal letter to employees on welcoming Seema Nair. "She brings an outstanding track record in the field of HR," Krishnamurthy said. Seema's appointment marks the third successive transition in the role of CHRO at Flipkart. Smriti Krishna Singh was the CHRO in 2018 but left in 2019. Krishna Raghavan was elevated to Chief People Officer in 2020 but left the company last year.

With nearly 30 years of experience across various industries, including IT, manufacturing, FMCG, and retail, Seema brings a wealth of expertise to Flipkart. Prior to joining Flipkart, Seema was the head of Group HR Digitization and HR Office at Reliance Industries, delivering group-level HR initiatives. She also led HR for the hydrocarbons and allied businesses, where she focused on talent development, D&I, and employer branding.

Seema has held important leadership positions in other prominent companies, such as Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Cisco Systems, and Intel Corporation, in which she learned to manage the HR operations across India and the SAARC region.

Besides business acumen, Seema believes that a strong organizational culture, leadership, and people management are the critical success factors for an organization. Under her leadership, Flipkart will continue to develop a thriving workplace culture that drives innovation and growth.
