Tata Motors Partners Delta Electronics

This collaboration is designed to support the increasing adoption of commercial EVs by industries such as e-commerce, parcel, and courier services

Tata Motors has announced a strategic partnership with Delta Electronics India and Thunderplus Solutions to bolster the charging infrastructure for its electric commercial vehicles (CVs). The agreement aims to establish 250 fast-charging stations across India, adding to the existing network of 540 commercial vehicle charging points.

These additional stations will be placed in and around fifty important cities, including as Bengaluru, Pune, Kochi, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru. Tata Motors plans to use its in-depth knowledge of the commercial EV market to pinpoint the best places for its forthcoming charging stations and recommend that they be built close to dealerships. Delta Electronics will provide the necessary hardware for the charging stations, while Thunderplus Solutions will handle the installation and operation. This collaboration is designed to support the increasing adoption of commercial EVs by industries such as e-commerce, parcel, and courier services, which are increasingly relying on electric vehicles for last-mile deliveries. Vinay Pathak, Vice President and Business Head of Tata Motors’ SCV & PU division, highlighted the benefits of the expanded charging network, stating that it would encourage more customers to opt for electric commercial vehicles. Pathak also noted that improved charging infrastructure on high-use routes would enhance vehicle uptime, leading to higher revenues, better profitability, and a positive environmental impact.

Tata Motors currently offers the Ace EV, supported by over 150 electric vehicle service centers nationwide, catering to various last-mile delivery needs.
