MTNL Board Greenlights Strategic 10-Year Agreement, Paving the Way for Long-Term Collaboration and Key Restructuring Moves
In a decisive move aimed at fortifying its future, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has approved a 10-year service agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). This long-term collaboration between the two state-run telecom giants is expected to bolster their operational synergies and service offerings across India.
MTNL’s board also sanctioned several other critical decisions, including the sale of its shares in Mahanagar Telephone (Mauritius) and MTNL STPI IT Services Ltd. Additionally, the company has decided to close down Millennium Telecom Limited, a step that aligns with its broader restructuring strategy.
These strategic decisions have been made in strict adherence to regulatory guidelines and now await approval from the relevant government departments. As MTNL embarks on this new chapter, the company’s focus remains on optimizing its assets, enhancing its service portfolio, and ensuring sustainable growth in an increasingly competitive telecom landscape.
By aligning its efforts with BSNL, MTNL is not only securing its position in the market but also working towards creating a more robust and unified telecom infrastructure for the nation.
