The renewed partnership underscores Alaska Airlines’ ambition to be the most fuel-efficient U.S. airline by 2025
Alaska Airlines has renewed its partnership with Air Space Intelligence (ASI), reinforcing its commitment to sustainability through AI-driven fuel efficiency. The collaboration, centered on ASI’s Flyways AI platform, plays a critical role in optimizing flight operations and reducing carbon emissions as the airline progresses toward its net-zero goals.
Over the past four years, Alaska has integrated Flyways into its Network Operations Center, where dispatchers utilize the platform to optimize flight routes. This technology has consistently offered route optimization for 55% of Alaska’s flights, delivering fuel savings and emissions reductions of 3-5% on long-haul flights. In the previous year alone, Flyways helped the airline save over 1.2 million gallons of fuel, equating to nearly 12,000 megatons of CO2 emissions. The renewed partnership underscores Alaska Airlines’ ambition to be the most fuel-efficient U.S. airline by 2025. The Flyways AI platform employs advanced algorithms to analyze data such as weather patterns and air traffic, enabling dispatchers to make real-time decisions that enhance fuel efficiency and ensure timely arrivals.
Alaska Airlines’ continued collaboration with ASI highlights the airline’s dedication to innovation and operational excellence. As the aviation industry increasingly prioritizes sustainability, Alaska Airlines’ use of AI technology stands as a model for reducing environmental impact while maintaining reliable service.
