Software Products That Delights Users and Grow Brands
Embodied Labs
Embodied Labs is a progressive start-up that uses immersive virtual reality (VR) to teach caregivers experientially. The platform initially necessitated the use of a VR headset, which was generally used on-premises at their employers' facilities. But when the COVID-19 pandemic rendered on-premises training and sharing headsets impossible, Embodied Labs joined forces with Relay to switch to a web-based platform that would enable users to learn remotely, without the need for specialized hardware.
Relay's solution was to build an end-to-end online platform that could deliver Embodied Labs' VR content to customers without a headset. This entailed building a web-based GUI for smooth integration with their current VR application so that the user experience was uniform on all devices. Other features were added to make onboarding easier, like single sign-on (SSO) and custom login. Regular feature enhancements and updates enabled Embodied Labs to serve both their sales department as well as the changing demands of their clients.
Thanks to Relay's UX/UI design, full-stack web development, and product strategy assistance, Embodied Labs was able to successfully transition its immersive training experiences to a wider audience and maintain continued access and expansion despite the challenging landscape.
Odessa Connect
Odessa Connect is an advanced platform created to facilitate the connection between seniors and loved ones, caregivers, and healthcare professionals through their TV as a communication device. Through the conversion of the television screen into an interactive computer interface, Odessa Connect supports efficient video calls, messaging, and health consultations that give seniors an easy means of staying in touch with their communities.
Relay was instrumental in assisting Odessa Connect to evolve from an idea to a reality. The system incorporates own-branded hardware with a cross-platform digital solution, enabling users to communicate through their TV sets. Relay worked very closely with the product development team at Odessa Connect in order to build on the system with new features and optimize the platform to scale up with the growth of the company.
Relay's efforts consisted of quick prototyping, custom software development, and ongoing design iterations to make the platform stay user-friendly and compatible with new hardware and technology. The partnership also included close collaboration with hardware partners to beta and ship new devices, further extending Odessa Connect's capabilities and reach.
The outcome is one combined communications platform for seniors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals that aims to improve the quality of life for users by increasing connectivity.
21c Museum Hotels
21c Museum Hotels, an emerging hospitality chain with properties in the U.S., joined forces with Relay to overcome the hurdles of expanding their operations. When the company grew from one to nine locations, 21c required a better method for monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and real-time metrics at all of its properties. For this, Relay developed a tailored web application that simplified their reporting system and consolidated data from disparate sources.
The primary challenge was to swap out a legacy manual reporting process with a digital product that would be used by a decentralized team. Relay created a solution that involved a revenue dashboard, a proprietary content management system (CMS), and third-party integrations. The platform also supported a people directory and automated reporting tools to allow real-time data to be always available and current.
The result was a clean, searchable window into both company-wide and location-specific performance metrics that significantly cut down on errors and inconsistencies in reporting. The system also enhanced operational efficiency by streamlining the onboarding process and offering an intuitive report creation user interface.
Relay continues to assist 21c with brand and design services for new hotel and restaurant openings, marketing campaigns, and other initiatives, ensuring they remain on track to continue growing and thriving.
