10 Admired Companies of the Year 2025
Business Honor

Bright Machines has been working to change manufacturing by using robotics, AI-based software, and data to enhance how products are made and reduced. Bright Machines has brought about software-driven robotics and used artificial intelligence-based robotic cells on factory floors to automate assembly. It created the Brightware Platform operating system to facilitate flexible automation in its microfactories. Bright Machines has also diversified its customer base and raised funds to drive growth, including collaborations with tech firms such as Nvidia and Microsoft. Most recently, with the support of investors like BlackRock, it has targeted AI infrastructure with its automation offerings, from design all the way through assembly and disassembly. Bright Machines offers smart automation solutions designed to assist manufacturers in enhancing efficiency and responding to changing industry needs.
Bright Machines' Automated Solutions
DIMM Insertion
Bright Machines provides in-line and off-line automated DIMM card insertion solutions. The in-line system features load-balancing among a maximum of eight Bright Robotic Cells, directing servers with high efficiency to achieve optimum throughput. The offline solution streamlines the dull and ergonomically stressful task of installing DIMMs onto motherboards manually, minimizing human efforts and errors.
CPU and Heatsink Placement
This solution streamlines the accurate placement of CPUs and heatsinks in server assembly. With the use of machine vision and robotics, it executes discrete operations like taking off CPU slot covers, installing components, and fastening heatsinks with screws—all without hands-on interaction. This method speeds up new product introductions by as much as eight-fold.
GPU Integration
Bright Machines' GPU Integration handles the manipulation of heavy, high-value GPU modules automatically. It retrieves GPUs from OEM packaging, aligns them for installation, installs them into servers, screws them in with consistent torque, and logs part and process information. It minimizes defects, mistakes, and injuries that come with human assembly while maintaining damage-free operations.
Storage Systems Assembly
For storage of data, Bright Machines automates drive preparation and insertion, particularly for cloud-storage servers. The system pairs drives to the appropriate chassis and performs final insertion, supporting more than 50 SKUs on one production line.
Connector Handling
With machine vision and force-feedback sensors, this solution solves the problem of inserting fragile connectors through intricate cable paths into sockets accurately, consistently, and in volume—gaining 100% traceability.
DIMM Sorting and Relabeling
Automated DIMM Sorting sorts and scans a vast range of DIMM categories, eliminating human error and providing traceability for recycling, reuse, or resale. The DIMM Relabeling system enables high-volume, error-free relabeling of reusable DIMMs seven times faster.
DIMM Testing
The DIMM Testing solution automates insertion and removal of DIMMs from various testers, maximizing the reuse or defective modules identification to aid circular manufacturing processes.
Together, these solutions optimize server assembly workflows, improve product quality, and enable sustainable manufacturing practices.
Bright Machines: Master Automation Products for Effective Manufacturing
Closed Bright Robotic Cell (BRC)
The Closed BRC is a production-ready, pre-integrated modular unit purpose-built for particular assembly applications. Based on the Brightware® Platform OS, the robotic cells establish a controlled environment for assembly of AI infrastructure, including end-of-arm tools, feeding systems for material, and sophisticated Smart Skills for navigation and inspection.
Open Bright Robotic Cell (BRC)
The Open BRC is a stand-alone model ideal for big-form material handling and rack-level operation. These cells employ collaborative robots (cobots) that can safely move heavy parts such as GPUs with accuracy, enabling high-quality assembly processes. Similar to the closed BRC, it is also driven by the Brightware® Platform OS for flexibility and seamless integration with human workers.
Automated Visual Inspection Station
Bright Machines' Automated Visual Inspection Stations utilize AI-driven Smart Skills to identify errors and anomalies in real-time. This allows human operators to rapidly detect and address problems, boosting throughput and reducing errors in production.
Software and AI for Effective Design
Bright Designer DFAA streamlines product designs for robot assembly, lowering the cost and time of new product launch. It incorporates Nvidia Omniverse™ to prerelease and validates designs prior to production, speeding up development cycles.
In-Depth Data Insights
Bright Machines also provides an in-depth data suite, comprising Data Hub, Real-Time Monitoring, and Genealogy. These tools deliver valuable insights into manufacturing processes, enabling companies to monitor components and spot inefficiencies to enhance performance.
