BASF has launched xarvio CONNECT 2.0 in North America, giving farmers a faster way to transfer field data and application maps between xarvio FIELD MANAGER and farm machinery.

BASF has launched xarvio CONNECT 2.0, a new portable device expected to facilitate quick exchange of information between xarvio FIELD MANAGER and compatible farming equipment.
The next-generation device addresses a growing challenge in precision agriculture: connecting digital field data with farm equipment. The USB device, along with the embedded SIM card associated with a secure mobile network, enables application maps without using smartphones or tablets.
The formats supported include ISOMXML and Shapefile, and the equipment supported is capable of using flat-rate and variable-rate application maps for seeding, crop protection, and crop nutrition.
The farmers can connect the device directly to the machinery terminal, enabling the transfer of application maps in just a few minutes. Being ISOBUS and CAN-bus compatible, the device is capable of being utilized with a variety of machinery, including older models.
The device gathers operational data such as harvest statistics, moisture content, and application rate. This information can be reviewed by farmers using xarvio FIELD MANAGER for calculating the cost of inputs, yields, and revenues.
Designed with farmers’ feedback, xarvio CONNECT 2.0 is an improvement of the earlier device that has been used in Europe for the last three years. According to BASF, the device has undergone testing throughout the 2024 and 2025 growing seasons in several machines from different manufacturers, including the ones that have been manufactured more than a decade ago. GPS integration further aids farmers in monitoring machine positions and improving logistics to avoid unnecessary consumption of fuel and inputs.
With respect to corn production, GPS technology will aid xarvio BIOENERGY evaluates farming practices and carbon intensity. Eligible U.S. producers may get some advantages out of Section 45Z, which is called the Clean Fuel Production Credit. Business Honor notes that better machine connectivity could help farmers turn field data into faster, more informed and efficient decisions.
