Enterprise Technology Leader Bridges Critical Gap between Data Governance and Responsible AI Innovation.
Transcend has announced the expansion of Aimee Cardwell’s executive responsibilities in order to help companies meet the challenge of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) in their business processes. Cardwell is being transitioned into the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) In Residence from her previous position as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) In Residence. Having spent more than twenty years in executive leadership roles in the enterprise IT sector, Cardwell's broad range of experience makes her particularly well qualified for this new responsibility and provides Transcend with an experienced hand in helping organizations navigate the complex landscape of data governance for conducting AI-based analysis to meet their business objectives.
In discussing the challenges associated with the implementation of AI technologies, Ben Brook, Transcend's CEO and co-founder, pointed out that many Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) of major corporate America currently face serious challenges in the responsible deployment of AI applications due largely to the fact that many organizations do not have definitive answers to common questions regarding how they use data. This creates significant roadblocks to enabling responsible AI implementation for those organizations.
In Cardwell, Transcend will have access to an individual with the experience and expertise necessary to help bridge this critical gap between organizations dependent on data to conduct AI-based analysis and establish and maintain compliant data usage across systems, which is an increasing challenge being experienced by many organizations as they move nearer to deploying AI technologies to improve the efficiency of their operations through data-driven decision making. Cardwell emphasized the need for a more integrated approach, noting that CIOs and CISOs often duplicate efforts with different tools. Her goal is to help organizations consolidate data management, reducing redundancy and enabling more efficient AI initiatives.
