DoorDash continues NetSuite Partnership to Accelerate Growth showing better Technology Driven Business Strategy.
DoorDash has shown how partnerships between technology companies and businesses can help support incredible growth through its long time partnership with NetSuite that has played a critical role in DoorDash's rapid expansion. Just two years after launching, DoorDash made a key decision about its technology infrastructure. Many vendors were pushing them to change platforms, but DoorDash chose to stay with NetSuite. This was a game-changer for the company. NetSuite, built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, offered a true enterprise-class solution, so it gave DoorDash the scalability of a large enterprise without the huge cost and disruption that usually accompany such changes.
As DoorDash expanded from home delivery of meals into grocery, convenience and retail deliveries, NetSuite became increasingly important to the company and the new applications needed to help DoorDash grow quickly and easily. Lee highlighted that NetSuite enabled DoorDash to add new applications quickly and to adapt to their ever changing business needs. Today, DoorDash has grown to be a multi-faceted system that uses many integrated "stacks," with NetSuite as the central core of the technology stack and the place where financial information flows through to help it grow and remain operationally efficient.
NetSuite's Advanced Customer Support (ACS) has proven to be a key differentiator for NetSuite. According to Lee, ACS is an extension of his own team, allowing for ongoing collaboration between the two organizations. This type of collaboration is far more advanced than traditional vendor relationships and provides opportunities for each organization to continue to learn about emerging technologies together.
This collaboration has helped address the misalignment between the finance and IT departments that many enterprises are struggling with due to not having a unified data model and therefore there is inconsistency in information flow between both departments. The implementation of a unified data model and integrated best practices in NetSuite's application provides both DoorDash and NetSuite with streamlined operations and easier rollout of operations.
