Amit Suxena leads India-first strategy, driving ERP adoption across SMEs and mid-market
Oracle NetSuite is strengthening its focus on India as one of its most strategically important global markets, with Asia regional head Amit Suxena leading an India-first strategy designed for the country's complex and rapidly growing SME ecosystem. Suxena emphasizes India is not merely an extension of NetSuite's Asian operations but is "front and centre" of its long-term growth plans, diverse regulations, and uneven digital readiness across states.
Setting up local data centres in Mumbai and Hyderabad has been a key inflection point in NetSuite's India push, sorting out long-standing issues like data sovereignty, security, and latency. Powered by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, the local hosting environment now provides faster access, compliance assurance, and improved transaction performance, particularly for sectors handling high daily volumes. Suxena says the move eliminates a key barrier that once slowed cloud ERP adoption, especially among regulated industries.
NetSuite’s biggest opportunity lies in India’s vast SME and mid-market segment, where businesses are modernizing rapidly but often face long and complex ERP implementation cycles. The company has reduced the implementation timeline to under two months—a move aligned with the cash-flow constraints and decision-making pace for Indian entrepreneurs. The simplified, business-first approach is helping NetSuite gain traction across industries ranging from IT services and retail to food & beverage chains and multi-location operators, with many using the AI-driven insights natively built into the platform.
Adoption is also increasing in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as local partners provide state-specific support and help with regulatory compliance. India-focused tax, e-invoicing, and compliance features—further augmented by partner-built extensions for HR, payroll, and industry workflows—are strengthening NetSuite’s regional relevance. Suxena perceives India to be a multi-year expansion opportunity powered by cloud momentum, regulatory clarity, and SME digitalisation. With local infrastructure and a growing partner ecosystem, NetSuite is positioning itself as a leading ERP choice for India's next wave of high-growth businesses.
