Debasree Dasgupta becomes CMO of Pernod Ricard India, bringing global experience and starting in November 2025.
Debasree Dasgupta will formally begin her new position in November 2025, as Pernod Ricard India's Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Her move to India is scheduled for February 1, 2026. Kartik Mohindra, who was raised to a senior position with William Grant & Sons as their India Managing Director is replaced by Dasgupta.
Dasgupta is currently the CMO for Absolut as one of Pernod Ricard's most recognizable brands in addition to her role as Global Vice President. She oversees worldwide marketing strategy, invention and campaigns that link sustainable growth and cultural trends in her present role. She is renowned for fusing innovative marketing plans with a healthy brand legacy.
Debasree Dasgupta has more than 20 years of extensive experience in marketing for famous international brands. Before joining Unilever to work on the Lakmé brand, she began her career at Titan Company. She held both regional and international positions at Reckitt, including Veet's Global Brand Marketing Director. She later became the Marketing Director for Beverages at PepsiCo in the UK and Ireland, supervising teas, energy drinks, and soft drinks.
For Pernod Ricard India, an important market for the multinational spirits giant, her appointment represents a big step. It is expected that her leadership will promote growth in the Indian premium spirits market, excellent brand positioning, and consumer involvement. This shift comes after past industry leadership actions. In keeping with ongoing planned changes within leading spirits companies, Mohindra's predecessor, Sachin Mehta, will take over as Managing Director for Canada. As Dasgupta assumes her new position in India, her international experience and marketing know how are viewed as valuable assets.
